Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)

NLP encompasses the three most important components of human experience:

In essence, it explores the dynamics between mind and body (neuro), and language (linguistic), and how their interplay (programming) affects our behaviour.

Our neurology regulates how our bodies function and affects our internal sensations and emotions and also our external behaviours.
Our language determines one of the main ways in which we interact with the world and communicate with other people.
Our programming (or patterning) determines the kinds of ‘models of the world’ which we create.


We assess other people from their behaviours. These can be divided into external behaviours, their internal state and their internal processing. NLP helps you to initially assess your own behaviours so that you understand how you appear to others, and then to assess the behaviour you see exhibited by others. This can be useful in staff training, promotion and recruitment. It can also be useful when creating a relationship and bond with a new client or customer.

We all have different systems of representation which include visual, auditory, kinaesthetic, olfactory and gustatory. NLP explores which is your predominant system of representation to help you understand yourself before beginning to understand others.

In change management it is important to incorporate some aspects of NLP to help a person, or workforce, include the seven dynamics of change. This will ensure a smoother transition of change both in the workplace and in personal life.

Sports Psychology

As a coach or teacher of sports there are many ways the performance of a sports person or athlete can be improved. Fitness, techniques, tactics and strategies are just a few. However, none of these are worth the effort if the link between the mind and body is not improved and developed.

Sports psychology can be introduced into any profession other than sport, as it deals with one's expectations of what is achievable in life. Where is your circle of excellence and what do you feel capable of?
