The International Stress Management Association UK is a registered charity with a multi-disciplinary professional membership that includes the UK and the Republic of Ireland. It exists to promote sound knowledge and best practice in the prevention and reduction of human stress. It sets professional standards for the benefit of individuals and organisations using the services of its members. ISMA UK fulfils its purpose by: -
Setting standards and encouraging excellence in professional practice by: -
- Setting Criteria for Stress Management Professionals
- Applying criteria for acceptance into full membership
- Validating Stress Management Trainers and Coaches
- Promoting Continuing Professional Development
- Providing and maintaining a Code of Conduct
- Linking those who need and those who provide stress management services
- Close liaison with the Health and Safety Executive
The ISMA Objectives
The reality is that the work of ISMA UK, and its members, extends beyond dealing with members of the public, advising employers and it has supported the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) providing extensive, national workshops to develop awareness of Stress Risk Assessment and the implementation of the HSE Management Standards.
Stress & Lifestyle Solutions are full members of this organisation and are involved annually with the National Stress Awareness Day which is promoted by ISMA and the HSE every year, nationwide.
The Business Monthly
A monthly magazine distributed free with The Sheffield Star and circulated to all Sheffield Chamber of Commerce members. It is published on the first Wednesday of every month and you will find a regular column entitled ‘Stress Busters’ where you can read the latest information to help you cope with stress at work or at home.
The Sunday Times Of Malta
A regular weekly column is published detailing all subjects associated with health: nutrition, exercise, complimentary therapies, which medications are good and which are bad, which diets work and which don’t, in fact everything you need to know but were afraid to ask your doctor or medical practitioner.
